Bareroot (Delivery Early December 2026)
Bare root roses are dormant plants, which are lifted and dispatched between November and the end of March. Stems are approximately 6 to 12 inches long and the roots will be bare, meaning without soil.
We hand-select strong specimens only; with three or more main stems and plenty of root system. Unlike our competitors, you will notice our roses come with a lifting label detailing your name and the variety’s field position, this is because we unearth from our fields just prior to dispatch, ensuring minimal storage, and the best conditions for planting upon arrival.
Our bare root roses arrive in decorative wax-lined packaging; and come with a descriptive colour tie-label and Growing Guide booklet. If multiple roses are ordered, the plants will be tied together for transporting.
Buying bare root is the most economical and environmentally friendly way to purchase a rose, as the plant requires no pot or compost; less water; and is lighter to transport.
Planting during the dormant seasons, also gives the rose extra time to establish a good root system and adjust to its new situation before it begins to put on growth in the spring, which often means the rose is less stressed during its first summer, than a container rose planted fully leaved.
