More about Modern Shrub roses:
Modern Shrubs are a large assortment of mostly more modern hybrids of very mixed ancestry. All highly useful in their own individual ways. For the most part they were developed in the 20th century and do not fall into other groupings.
Ness (a.k.a. Vanessa) is a pink sport of Jacqueline du Pre. Beautiful heart-shaped petals of blush pink surround striking red and golden stamens. With a good perfume, healthy, bushy growth and a long flowering period, this is a stunning variety, perfect for the back of a border.
Pruning Guide: Prune in February/ March. Prune very lightly in the first year, reducing stems by no more than a third. In subsequent years, growths can be reduced by up to a half to leave a beautifully shapely plant.
