Modern Shrubs are a large assortment of mostly more modern hybrids of very mixed ancestry. All highly useful in their own individual ways. For the most part they were developed in the 20th century and do not fall into other groupings.
Westerland has clusters of beautifully scented bright apricot-orange double blooms with ruffled edges. It has a vigorous upright habit with parsley green foliage. Repeat flowering, but produces large orange hips in the autumn.
Pruning Guide: Prune in February/ March. Prune very lightly in the first year, reducing stems by no more than a third. In subsequent years, growths can be reduced by up to a half to leave a beautifully shapely plant.
