a.k.a Sherard's Rose. An interesting five petalled variety. Stems grow upright in a slight zig zag and are covered in thorns. Its leaves have a characteristic purplish stipule and midbrib. Often found in hedgrows in Scotland and Wales. Flowers late Spring. Size 2m x 2m. -
A graceful shrub bearing multitudes of single pink blooms with a circle of pale yellow stamens. Wood is plum coloured and the widely set leaflets are grey green. Small flagon shaped hips provide more interest. Tolerant of most soils and situations. 2m x 1.5m. -
