  POTTED ROSES
What is a potted rose?
Our potted roses are available all year round, they are planted in specially prepared peat-free compost containing controlled release fertiliser. All are 2 year old plants, so will flower in their first season.
How will they arrive?
Each rose will arrive in a decorative cardboard box, accompanied with their own descriptive colour label and growing booklet.
From November to March they will have no leaves. In April and May, new buds are emerging, please note some varieties will be slower at producing these but by late May you should see substantial bushy growth in all varieties. Between June and July our aim is to send roses just in bud or flowering. If the blooms have expired, stems may be dead headed (cut back) to encourage new growth.
Can I add a personalised message to my order?
Yes once you have added the variety to your cart and you have proceeded to checkout, there is box to fill in a special message. We are aware many of our roses are sent as gifts, so invoices and payment details are forwarded to your email only, not within the parcel.

Rosa banksiae 'Purezza' (A.k.a. Lady Banks Rose) has exquisite semi-double, creamy-white sprays of blooms. Requires sheltered and sunny wall, and needs minimal pruning. Thornless stems, bare tiny thorns on petioles. Supplied on own roots. Size: 14ft x 10ft. -
Ava (a.k.a. 'Mileva') has cup-shaped flowers with large, fragrant blooms. Its sweet and fruity petals can be used in desserts, salads and beverages. Healthy and low maintenance. 70cm x 50cm. -
Nadia a.k.a The Leonard Cheshire Home, is a strongly perfumed, repeat flowering shrub. Large red cupped blooms. Ideal for middle of a border or pot growing. Winner of fragrance prize in Lyon by French Rose Society 2003. Size 120 x 100cm. (Poulen007) -
a.k.a Vanessa. Beautiful heart-shaped petals of blush pink, surround striking red and golden stamens. Good perfume. Healthy, bushy growth. A pink sport of Jacqueline du Pre. Flowers continuously from June to October. Size 1.5 x 1.2m. -

Mary rose bush has clusters of very double old fashioned style quartered blooms. Pale yellow but paling off towards the margins. Sweet fragrance. Bushy growth with dark glossy foliage. Healthy. Useful for beds, borders or containers. Size: 80cms x 60cms. -
a.k.a. Simi. A wonderful new shrub rose named after Trevor's beautiful daughter. It bears large full, cupped blooms of dusky pink both singly and in clusters. The fragrant flowers also have a good vase life. Forms a bushy shrub approx. 1m x 1m in size. -
Rare. Huge single white flowers with a prominent boss of yellow stamens. Flowers late but continues up until frosts. Almost evergreen foliage. Needs a very sheltered site. Can be grown as a shrub but best as a climber. Supplied on own roots. Size 2m x 2m+ -
Bridget (a.k.a. Birthe Kjaer) is a rich red shrub rose with a sweet and strong perfume. Blooms are large and packed full of petals. It has a narrow but bushy habit. Would prefer space at the back or middle of border. Size: 120 x 100cm. -
Amelia (Damask) has pale pink sweetly scented blooms, with ruffled petals surrounding a yellow eye. It can be a tall shrub once established, and is ideally grown in a mixed border. Summer flowering. Size: 1.5m x 1m. -

Olivia has deep orange - almost coral coloured - blooms. Flowers are large and often form clusters. It has a handsome upright shape with healthy foliage, and a deep sweet fragrance. Enjoys strong healthy growth. Size: 120cm x 150cm. -
Layla, a.k.a. 'Isidora', is an exceptional repeat flowering shrub rose, with magnificent golden-yellow, open cupped flowers on long stems. Oakmoss, amber and sandalwood notes create a fresh, pleasant woody scent. Smooth foliage in pale green. Size 90cm x 70cm. -
Mia has lightly nodding branches, full of peachy coloured flowers. It is suitable for middle of the border and mixes well with other light coloured plants. Blooms are cup-shaped with a lovely apricot fragrance. Very healthy. Size 100cm x 80cm. -
Hallie (a.k.a. 'Draga') has intensively recurrent blooms, producing wave upon wave of scarlet petals. Its large, wavy flowers have delicate, musky notes and delightful white stripes before opening. It has dark green, disease-resistant foliage and a low bushy habit. Size 90cm x 60cm. -
Huge sprays of pure white semi-double blooms. Smooth elongated leaves. A strong musky scent. Good resistance from disease. Starts flowering mid-summer. Strong growth so ideally trained for an arch or pergola. Size: 5m x 2m. -

Large clusters of medium-sized, globular pink-white blooms, which are sweetly scented. Pale green matt foliage, fairly prickly stems. Although often classed as a Noisette or Hybrid Perpetual this is more akin to the Portland Damasks. Repeat flowering. Size: 1m x 1m. -
Beautiful single flowered purple rambler, with a scent of fresh peaches. It was discovered in Cornwall by Mrs Muriel Hooker Mackay around 1967. Graham Thomas believed it to be a seedling of Veilchenblau. Virtually thornless and summer flowering. Size: 4.5m x 3.6m
